Welcome!
This is a hyper-tuned fork of Marlin with a mini-config ( This includes a bunch of work to define & sanity check all the correct settings based on what you enable in
What do you mean by "Revo extruder"? Revo Hemera? Revo Roto? Bear/ BMG extruder with Revo 6 hotend? If it's a Bear/BMG extruder with Revo 6 hotend, then all you have to do is enable the correct extruder type and run a PID/MPCTEMP tune after installing Marlin.
That entirely depends on which hardware you're trying to use. For a Bear/BMG extruder with Revo 6 upgrade, it's minimal as noted above. For a brand new extruder/hotend like an Orbiter V3 (or any other major hardware), it's a bit more extensive since I need to verify motion/probing limits, motor direction & current, etc. |

Hello! I've recently been looking into potential ways to speed up my MK3S+ that would be cheaper than the 3.5 upgrade kit, and have been investigating flashing Marlin firmware onto a new board.
I've been learning a bit about Marlin and stumbled across this project. I was wondering if someone could help me clarify a few questions about it. Mainly, how does this project differ from regular Marlin firmware? Am I correct that this is essentially a customised Marlin firmware for the MK3S hardware? Is this a "calibrated" Marlin with the configuration for MK3S hardware already done, or do the changes go a bit deeper than that?
My other related question was, I can see there's a list of supported upgrades, such as extruders. I have a Revo extruder, which is not listed - I assume given this is Marlin, that I would be able to just go off and find some examples of people using Revos and do some work to configure it to work? Or again, are the changes that have been made here a bit deeper than that, and it would require a fair amount of work to use anything not explicitly listed as supported?
Thanks very much for your time and any clarification you can provide.
