What I mean is, is the lexer capable of handling JSO tree directly? Is there anyway to build a inverted index from JSON tree (not the text representation)?

No, it's not aware of JSON or any other such syntax.

@valeriansaliou

Is it possible to implerment an inverted index aware of JSON structure?

ElasticSearch requires a template. Is it the trick?

It's not planned. Sonic aims at solely indexing unstructured textual data and at being kept simple w/o much overhead. So it's a won't do on my end.
