Proposal Summary

Allow to specify a custom color for each sample dot in an embeddings visualization.

What areas of FiftyOne does this feature affect?

  • App: FiftyOne application
  • Core: Core fiftyone Python library
  • Server: FiftyOne server

Details

When visualizing embeddings, we can color by filepath, tag and metadata-attributes. However, it seems that other sample fields (either float fields or color string fields such as #FF0000) can NOT be selected as color by parameter. This would be great to check label consistency (using embeddings and custom colors based on label attributes).

//EDIT: It seems that float fields can be selected using interactive embeddings plots.
