CommonJS issue

currently facing an issue with nodejs
below is my sample code

nodeJS version

node: v14.16.0
npm: v6.14.13

sample code

import { createPinia } from "pinia";

// package.json
{
  "main": "main.js",
  "type": "module",
  "scripts": {
    "serve": "node --experimental-modules main.js"
  }
}

when i run npm run serve
it reports

import { createPinia } from "pinia";
         ^^^^^^^^^^^
SyntaxError: Named export 'createPinia' not found. The requested module 'pinia' is a CommonJS module, which may not support all module.exports as named exports.
CommonJS modules can always be imported via the default export, for example using:

import pkg from 'pinia';
const { createPinia } = pkg;
