Issue details

I select some text on my phone and get no option to annotate the selected text.

Duplicate?

This seems similar to #1431, but I’ve tried scrolling up and down as suggested in that issue, and I still don’t get an annotate button.

Actual behaviour

There is no option to add an annotation to selected text in the app.

Expected behaviour

There should be an option to create an annotation for the selected text.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Open article
  2. Select some text

Environment details

  • wallabag app version: 2.5.3 (233)
  • wallabag app installation source: F-Droid
  • Android OS version: 13
  • Android ROM: /e/ 2.5-t-20241108446630-community-sunfish
  • Android hardware: Google Pixel 4a
  • wallabag server version: 2.6.10 (app.wallabag.it)
  • Do you have Two-Factor-Authentication enabled?: no

Your experience with wallabag Android app

I haven’t had much luck with the Android app, since in the short time I’ve tried Wallabag annotations have not worked for me and this is the second most important feature of a read-later app for me. But I really want to see Wallabag succeed, especially now that the developers behind Omnivore have abandoned it. Really rooting for you here.

We have just merged #1445. Maybe this helps here, too.
