I've run into an issue with clinical data where the same specimen has different storage conditions and therefore are duplicates in the table (same ID but different storage conditions), because the samples taken from the specimen have different storage conditions. After discussions with the data custodian, they replied:
"I would just not record a specimen storage condition in a clinical table. the information belongs to the DNA or RNA sample and the sequencing assay."
