Welcome to the PRODIGUER docs main page. You will find here public technical information related to the Prodiguer platform.
The PRODIGUER working team designs, develops and deploys applications to support research teams from the Institute Pierre Simon Laplace. These tools are intended to facilitate the distribution, access and analysis of international climate data.
At the interface between researchers and data, the PRODIGUER team is part of the Earth System Grid Federation (ESG-F) which supports the distribution of global climate data. We support (and for some manage) deployment and maintenance of french datanodes odes and raise the needs of french scientists on the forefront of the international discussions.
The PRODIGUER working team also provides support and assistance in the analysis of data by developing and updating various tools within the reach of researchers.
Synda is a Python program supporting efficient discovery/authentication/download/orchestration processes from the distributed digital repositories of the ESGF Federation in an easy way (including CMIP5, CORDEX, ISI-MIP, obs4MIPs, EUCLIPSE, GeoMIP..).
A set of specialized tools design to streamline and to ease analysis of data coming from the ESGF distributed digital repositories (efficient verification and compliant rewrite of time axis, detection of overlapping files, fast selection of available files based on user specifications, etc.).
The PRODIGUER messaging platform supports the development of climate simulation downstream applications by providing a messaging transport and persistence layer. Current focuses are on simulation robustness and metrics collections.
ES-DOC (Earth System Documentation) is a project dedicated to delivering an eco-system in support of Earth System Model (ESM) documentation (which has historically been a largely neglected activity within the ESM community). Via PRODIGUER, the IPSL is a key long-term partner of the ES-DOC project.
