The !song Command

Are people in your chat asking about what song you're playing all the time? Well Botnak supports letting them know with the !song command!

Setup

Firstly, you're going to need a last.fm account. If you already have one, skip this step. Go to last.fm and sign up for an account. Keep note of what your account name is.

Secondly, you're going to want to get a scrobbler. The way that last.fm works is, last.fm receives messages from other programs, plugins etc, that tell it the current song that is playing. It stores these messages, and has an API that Botnak can use to tell your chat what is currently playing.

For music playing in your browser (Spotify, YouTube, etc):
Chrome Plugin
Mozilla Plugin
(if you want it for some other browser, just search "(your browser) last fm scrobbler" in Google)

For your desktop/mobile:
Last FM provides some downloads on their site.

For Botnak to appropriately be set up to use the !song command in your chat, you will need to edit your "defaults.ini" file (found in the My Documents/Botnak/ folder) to have the LastFMAccount property point to your account, like so:

Note: make sure Botnak is shut down before making this change!

Result

If set up correctly, Botnak should output your current song (or last played song) like so:
