Glossary

Target Hours
A static set of hours allotted to the project. Generally used as a budget to stay within for the project.

Proposed Hours
Hours being considered for a tentative project/assignment.

Plan Hours
Hours to follow for an active project/assignment.
When displayed as a total number it is a blend of Actual hours from the past and Plan hours in the future. This blended number is useful for knowing where you'll end up at the end of the Plan.

Actual Hours
Hours that have been devoted to the project/assignment.

Delta Hours
The difference of Plan + Actual hours from the Target hours.
This helps to see if you'll go over- or under-budget.

Functionality

Archive project
For removing a project from immediate view.
Archiving a project will hide it from the Projects list as well as from every persons My StaffPlan that was added to the project. Archived projects can still be discovered through the Show archived projects link at the bottom of Projects and viewed.

Deactivated people
When users are removed from the organization: they will no longer have access to StaffPlan, their Projects and hours will be kept and accessible, be labeled as Deactivated, not be able to be added to any future projects or have any future hours from their deactivated date. To see all deactivated users, there is a Show deactivated people link at the bottom of the People screen to display them.

Delete person from project
For removing a person from a project.
Only available if the person has no Actual hours on the project.
