Steps

1. Enable Talk
2. Enable Dashboard
3. Disable all dashboard widgets but Talk
4. Reload the page

Expected

Only Talk API is called

Actual

• Photos widget is loading data and throwing an error that "Could not load Photos folder"
• Activity widget loads items
• User status widget loads items

Also observed in NC 30.0.0 deployment.

Need to mention that this is not consistently reproduce-able.

Mitigation by adding photos inside photos add also did not help.

Just after upgrading to Hub 9, I experienced this issue with Dashboard too, and because of a loosely related bug in one of the apps, it caused my server to get repeatedly overloaded and crash.

Apparently new in Hub 9, all the Dashboard widgets are loaded, even those not displayed. This seems to be utterly unnecessary for some - presumably not so important - advantage.
