Announcement of Governance Process

Hello @channel,

In order for our community to continue to grow and thrive, we want to establish an open collective. For this, we will need to formalize ResBaz by creating a required governance document. We invite everyone in the community to help, but realize that this is a big commitment. We (Julian, Heidi, Alex, Val) are willing to get the ball rolling on this, but ask for help and input from you in the following way(s):

Governance drafting task force ✏️

If you would like to be part of the task force that drafts the document and works with the community to address concerns, please let us know by adding your name to the STEERING-COMMITTEE.md file in the resbazaz/organization GitHub repository via a pull request.

Please add your name by Friday, May 19 at 5:00pm PST and expect to invest about 1-2 hrs of asynchronous time a week for the next ~10 weeks.

Community voting and participation 👍

To contribute to the content of the governance doc: Once an initial governance document has been drafted, the entire community will have the chance to give comments and feedback. The drafting group will work with the community until a final document is composed, and the community will be invited to vote on the governance doc.

Channels of Communication ☎️

All further communication (including drafts of the document and voting) regarding this project will happen in the open on the GitHub resbazaz/organization repository. This is to avoid Slack's auto-deletion of messages after 90 days. Please "watch" the repository to stay up-to-date with all changes.

Major announcements will also be shared to #general in Slack.
