Introduction

5GTango/Sonata monitoring system has been implemented in compliance with the ETSI NFV MANO specifications, providing an interactive monitoring framework capable of offering real-time data collection, processing and alerting to all stakeholders of an SDN/NFV-enabled service platform, i.e. service developers, service platform operators and end-users, under heterogeneous cloud-enabled computing environments. Additionally, in order to facilitate the developing process, SONATA monitoring system collects and offers information related to the available resources of the infrastructure, as mandated by VNF Placement. For example, the developer is informed whether special conditions required for the service deployment are satisfied in a particular NFVI. Thus, the monitoring system is able to collect data from the underlying infrastructures comprising the SONATA ecosystem. The collection of information from the above-mentioned components will also provide service status information (e.g. error state).
