Applying Solder Mask

Solder mask covers all copper areas of the board that you will no be soldering to in order to prevent shorts when you solder parts to the board. It also protects the ground planes from touching items not on the board.

Read the SOP for the solder mask process and follow the instructions carefully.

After you complete the solder mask, you will need to create a stencil to help you apply the solder paste to the board.
